prelude to an ode

yes.

it's been a year. a year of shattering the status quo. a year of dereliction. a year of purposeful misdirection.

it may sound overtly abstract to many why i've singled this year out of all the days, but to everyone else:

it's been a year of not shaving my head. haha.

at least it's the physical manifestation of it...

a lot's happened since then...

DAYbreaks, superplans, shellshocks, broken vows, broken connections, broken dreams

...broken hearts...

and well, yeah, it's been the greatest ride and it's been the roughest (not to mention the most unkempt) bumps...

an ode to... i promise to post when i finally close the chapter

and when it closes it'll all be rightfully over

starting with this and ending with another

to sleep and dreams these wounds shall recover

not for naught and not forever

to arms and to keep; i'll always remember...(?)

the ode shall come soon...

dog

happy easter everyone!

hahaha... hi, allow me to reintroduce myself. the name is santino joshua garcia torre and i am blank.

anyway, i've been to the far side, and ive made it back so anyone who feels awfully about me should launch a complaint with star command...

what..?!?

the news: i just finished foundation training and guess what? i passed! yay! (with flying colors i might add...) and things are really starting to come into focus now...

i got a dog. my mom gave me a dog. a three month old labrador. why?

the last dog i had was a japanese somethng when i was six years old, her name was teela and it was a gift from my cousins... i loved that dog

she got run over by a car one day

i was pissed. i was so pissed off i started killing kittens. that's when all this "i hate animals" business started.

and now my mom gets me a dog. an EXPENSIVE dog.

at a time when i want a new electric guitar OR an iPod...

what does this mean?!?!?

maybe im just reading too much into things. maybe it means nothing. maybe. maybe. maybe.

the dog has been named "ashley" (coz she's black, ASH-ley? get it?)

work is fun

hey hey hey! long time no blog! hahaha... but this is gonna be a short one...

we shot a short film last saturday (entitled "wag mong mahawak-hawakan ang nanay ko"), a sort of sharon cuneta parody about this houseboy who likes watching sharon cuneta movies. because he is so into sharon, he decides to stand up for himself against his oppressive master...

...and then he dies...

it's braindead yes, but when you look about it, this is our take on how dumb society is getting... they see these icons all around and they think that they're all capable of being the star of their own Filipino underdog story... ...a delusion they think will carry through anything...

except it's not like that in the real world...

we (mostly I) edited it on sunday evening and didn't sleep so that i could attend my first day of work.

yes, you read right. WORK.

for the oblivious: i recently submitted an application at SITEL in Libis (which is a call center), because of the obvious frustration i feel about not graduating yet (and i need a new guitar, boohoo...)

Today marked the second day.

it's fun.

it isn't hard as bumfuck going to UP at all...
sometimes i wonder why i even went to college there at all... why i even went to college when work is so much easier and direct

work doesn't make you memorize cat parts and chemical equations.
work is about skills that are pertinent.
work doesn't have sadistic professors who hold your life in their hands.
work life isn't about getting into dentistry proper.
work pays you a lot of money twice a month.

work is actually fun.
